(09:20) Santa Cruz – Save Our Shores teamed up with community members to participate in a Beach Cleanup over the weekend. Volunteers fanned across Cowell and Main beaches picking up cigarette buts, wine glasses and plastic utensils. Volunteers have reported they have gathered as much 800 pounds of trash, in one day, during the summer months. During the winter months there tends to be a decline of the amount of trash left on the beaches and volunteers estimate they collect between 50 to 100 pounds in one day.
