November 22, 2016: Community Heroes

(09:50) Santa Cruz County – The 22nd annual Community Assessment Project was held yesterday at Cabrillo College.  The project, which is also referred to as CAP, consists of six sectors: economy, education, health, public safety, social environment and natural environment.  The Community Assessment Project was designed to better understand and improve the lives of people in Santa Cruz County.  A few of the heroes that received awards were 5th grader, Ayla Dingman AND MARTINA O’Sullivan.  Dingman received an award for raising money to buy backpacks and school supplies for kids.  O’Sullivan, who is the chair of the United Way’s Women in Philanthropy, was honored with a lifetime achievement award.
