(10:00) Santa Cruz County – The identity of the 15 year-old boy that was shot and killed in an officer-involved shooting has been released. Police reported that Luke Smith stabbed two people on the 800 block of Amesti Road, just outside Watsonville, on Saturday shortly before 3 a.m. The When officers arrived they tried to get Smith to surrender by talking with him, using tasers, a sponge gun as well as a K-9. An officer shot and killed Smith after he advanced officers with a knife. The Sheriffs office will release body camera footage in the coming days. The two victims remain in critical condition but are expected to live.
