(10:55) Santa Cruz & Monterey County – Fall is deer mating season and the SPCA of Monterey County have offered some guidelines that will help drivers avoid hitting them: Driving extra carefully during dawn and dusk, especially where visibility is limited is very important. It is advised to slow down and use extra caution when approaching a deer standing near the side of the road. If a deer enters the roadway flash your lights and honk your horn in effort to get them off the road. If you spot one deer be prepared to see more nearby. Be on the look out for areas with deer crossing signs posted.
