October 21, 2016; Update: Man faces 6 Felony Charges

(12:20) Monterey County – A man is facing 6 felony charges after he attacked a police officer on October 11th.  37 year-old Walter Ancheta fled by foot after he was pulled over by a police officer.  A short time later Ancheta returned to his vehicle and attacked the officer.   During the altercation Ancheta was shot in the cheek with the bullet ending up in his shoulder. The felony counts include: Resisting a peace officer causing serious injury to the officer, battery with injury on a peace officer, assault with a deadly weapon (a car) on a peace officer, child endangerment, transportation of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine for sale.   He will be arraigned today (Friday) at 1:30 in Monterey County Superior Court.
