OFFSHORE – Marine mammal experts are saying that the birthrate is coming back up for California Sea Lions. After 3 really bad years, the birthrate for this years pups is only about 41 percent below normal. Reportedly sea lion pups in the channel islands were normal size this year, and the Marine Mammal Center said it has been taking in fewer patients this year, unlike last year when they took in 14-hundred starving and ill sea lions.
