(8:54) PALO ALTO- A committee is one step closer to making recommendations to the FAA on changing flight patterns over the Santa Cruz area. Since the March of 2015 over 3 million noise complaints have been made over the changed landing approach to SF International Airport which currently crosses Capitola, Soquel, Happy Valley and the Summit. At a meeting in Plo Alto on Thursday the committee discussed changing the route back to an old flight path which received minimal complaints. That path would cross Santa Cruz’s Westside and the ridgeline between the San Lorenzo Valley and Highway 17. The recommendations are to be made public October 21st.
