September 29, 2016: Update: Loma Fire

(07:30) Santa Clara County – Cal Fire reported this morning that The Loma Fire is 3,849 acres and is still 22 percent contained.  I residence and 6 out buildings have been destroyed and 1 single residence has been damaged.  300 structures remain threatened.  The wildfire began as a house fire near Loma Chiquita Road.   Evacuations on the Santa Cruz side have been lifted.   Mandatory evacuations remain in effect for the Loma Prieta Ridgeline Area.  That includes all roads along Summit Road (from Soquel San Jose Road to the Ormsby Fire Station).  That includes Uvas Canyon County Park, Loma Chiquita, Casa Loma, Loma Prieta Way,  Highland Road, and Mount Bache Road.  Firefighters are hoping to have full containment by Monday.
