September 28, 2016: JERRY BROWN SIGNS BILL ON NEW GUN LAW

(12:30) California – Governor Jerry Brown has signed a bill requiring California gun owners and law-enforcement of to lock up their firearms if they leave a vehicle unattended.  The bill also requires that people either lock their firearms in the trunk or container that is out of sight to the public.  People who do not obey the new law will receive a fine up top $1000.  Senate Bill 869 was passed due to the recent history of firearms being stolen out of police vehicles in the bay area.  Salinas alone has had three different incidences’ of firearms being stolen out of police cars in the last year
