July 11, 2016: Two Arrested for Multiple Robberies in Monterey County

(07:05) SEASIDE – Two men were arrested in Seaside Sunday in connection with multiple armed robberies. Officers were dispatched to the 7-Eleven on Fremont Boulevard shortly before 6 a.m. following a report of an armed robbery. The robber reportedly fled the scene with a getaway driver in a gray Honda Accord before police arrived. Shortly after, an armed robbery was reported at the Shell gas station on Canyon del Rey Boulevard. Arriving officers spotted the suspect vehicle and a chase ensued. The pursuit ended when the Honda crashed at the Highway 68 exit off Highway 1. Both of the vehicle’s occupants, Emilio Froilan Gomez and Thomas Ray Martinez, both 20, were apprehended. A search of their vehicle recovered stolen items from two other robberies, in Salinas and Toro Park. Both suspects were booked into Monterey County Jail. (S.G.)
