July 7, 2016: Santa Cruz County Approves 2016-17 Budget

(08:55) SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors has approved its 2016-17 budget. The county is anticipating spending around $696 million on a number of services and programs during its next fiscal year. One use of the funds will be to hire additional public safety officers. The county will also be funding a pilot public health program, connecting new mothers living in poverty with nurses. The budget reserves 8 percent of revenues for the county’s rainy day fund.
