(07:02) MONTEREY COUNTY – A Salinas man has pleaded no contest to domestic violence and assault charges. In March 2015, 46-year-old Horacio Venegas struck a woman in the face. On a separate occasion, Venegas strangled the same victim. He also came to the woman’s house while out on bail, in violation of a protective order. Venegas faces up to 8 years in prison when he is sentenced August 9. (S.G.)
