June 20, 2016: Police Investigating Robbery at Salinas Mall

(09:07) SALINAS – A woman was robbed at the Northridge Mall in Salinas on Friday. Officials say the woman was shopping at JC Penney around 5 p.m. when she was approached by an elderly man. While they spoke, a second man approached them and said he was selling a gold bar. The elderly man expressed interest, but the woman declined the offer. The second man then threatened he had a gun and led the woman to a bank where he forced her to withdraw her savings. They then walked back together to the food court, where the elderly man was waiting. The elderly man was described to be Hispanic, around 70 years old and 5 feet tall, with a thin build and gray hair. The second man was also Hispanic, around 50 years old and about 5-foot-4 with a heavy build and black hair. They were seen leaving the mall in a black Volvo being driven by a third individual.
