(07:50) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Santa Cruz County officials have expanded its Citizen Connect app in preparation for the 4th of July. Last year, the county developed the app to help residents report potholes, trash, and other issues impacting quality of life. The Sheriff’s Office has since asked the county to update the app, to help residents report fireworks activity that may not warrant a call to 911 during peak times on the 4th of July holiday. The location of the fireworks activity will be posted on an interactive map that can be viewed by other residents and Sheriff’s Office personnel. The Citizen Connect app can be downloaded through iTunes and the Google Play Store. (S.G.)
