June 12, 2016: Used Needles Still Prevalent in Santa Cruz
(11:20) SANTA CRUZ- A study by a Santa Cruz group shows used hypodermic needles are still prevalent in public areas. The Take Back Santa Cruz organization reported on Friday that 229 needles have been found in the last two months. 188 of the needles were recovered by city employees, another 41 have been found by residents and community groups. Over 10000 needles have been found in the county in the last 4 years.
