(07:51) SANTA CRUZ – A majority of UC Santa Cruz students are in favor of taking steps to keep the university’s athletics program, according to a new opinion poll. In March, university officials announced that a new student fee would need to be established to finance the program. This month, 63 percent of undergraduate students said they would vote in favor of the fee, which would charge students an additional $90 per quarter. Undergraduate students will officially vote on the measure in spring 2017. In the meantime, two committees are looking at sustainable funding models for the program. (S.G.)
