(10:27) SANTA CRUZ – Along with the statewide water conservation mandate being lifted, Santa Cruz (which has had some of the toughest water restrictions) plans to ease the pressure on its water customers. For the last 2 years the city has been handing out penalties to people who use excessive water, and has limited outside watering and the filling of swimming pools. Customers are now directed to avoid water waste such as allowing excessive irrigation to run off their property or spray onto sidewalks and paved areas.
