(23:02) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – A whale carcass, initially seen Monday in a kelp bed between Woodrow Avenue and Columbia Street was caught off the coast of west cliff this morning. The body of the 40-foot long Humpback Whale appears to be drifting toward Its Beach and Lighthouse Point. This is at least the second whale to wash-up on Santa Cruz county shores this year. A dead gray whale calf beached itself at Hidden Beach in April, before drifting to the Cement Ship off Seacliff State Beach in Aptos.
