(11:40) MONTEREY – The newly remodeled El Estero skate park in Monterey opened over the weekend. The city spent 6 months and 300-thousand dollars to re-build the park (that initially opened back in 1999). The money was supplied by a Neighborhood Improvement Plan that gets its funding from Hotel Occupancy Taxes. Skateboarders who use the El Estero skateboard park are required to wear a helmet while doing so. If they fail to wear a helmet, they face a possible 100-dollar ticket.
