April 28, 2016: CHOMP gets K-9 Security

(19:17) PACIFIC GROVE- The Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula now has K-9 security officers. CHOMP is the first medical facility in the area to employ canines as part of the security team. A 2014 study, performed by the International Healthcare Security Safety Foundation states that the risk of violence is lower in hospitals with K-9 security officers, than facilities without them. The two new officers have been adjusting to the hospital since February.
