April 27, 2016: Man Accused of Stabbing at Naval Postgraduate School Appears in Court

(08:47) MONTEREY – A man accused of attempted murder appeared in Monterey County Superior Court on Tuesday. 28-year-old Jonathan Rivera allegedly stabbed an employee on the Naval Postgraduate School campus in Monterey last month. The victim was hospitalized and is expected to recover. Investigators say the attack was random and Rivera has no connections to the victim. Rivera has pleaded not guilty and appeared in court yesterday for a mental competency hearing. He was ordered to begin taking medication and remains in custody. (S.G.)
