(UPDATE) April 25, 2016: Suspect Arrested, Victim’s Name Released in Greenfield Homicide

(Updated at 11:09) – Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide in Greenfield over the weekend. The incident took place around 7 p.m. Friday near Elm Avenue and South El Camino Real, where officers responded to a reported shooting. Two people were found at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 35-year-old Jose Refugio-Alvarez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the murder suspect has not yet been released, pending formal charges. The investigation is ongoing. (S.G.)

The incident took place Friday night near Elm Avenue and South El Camino Real, where officers responded to a reported shooting. At this time no information about the victim has been released.
