The incident took place around 7 p.m. Friday near Elm Avenue and South El Camino Real, where officers responded to a reported shooting. Two people were found at the scene, suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 35-year-old Jose Refugio-Alvarez, was pronounced dead at the scene.
