(08:05) WATSONVILLE – Pajaro Valley water officials have approved a pilot program in an effort to replenish underground aquifers. The Recharge Net Metering program will create financial incentives for landowners to collect water flowing from hill slopes, roads, and fields during large rainstorms and put it back into the ground. The PV Water Management Agency plans to hold meetings later this year at which interested landowners can request to have their properties evaluated for inclusion in the program. The five-year pilot program will begin in October 2016. (S.G.)
