(07:48) SANTA CRUZ – An art showcase featuring work from UCSC student artists is opening in San Francisco on Friday. In February, students across California were invited to submit works to the 20th Annual De Young Student Showcase. UCSC students Austin Carlson, Jocelyn Lozano and Rachel Smith were chosen from over 350 applicants. Their art will be featured in the 3-day showcase, based around the theme “Sanctuary”. The event will kick off with a reception on Friday from 6 to 8:45 p.m. at the De Young Museum. (S.G.)
