(06:56) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – Santa Cruz County residents are being warned about a phone scam. Callers impersonating IRS agents have reportedly been contacting residents and telling them they are late on paying their taxes. The victims are then threatened with deportation, arrest, having their utilities shut off, or having their driver’s licenses revoked. The callers are frequently hostile and have been targeting immigrants and the elderly. Anyone who receives a call of this nature is encouraged to report it to the Treasury Inspector General. (S.G.)
