(17:49) SANTA CRUZ- The Santa Cruz City Council will vote on a proposed site for Santa Cruz Shakespeare at tomorrow’s meeting (Tuesday). Santa Cruz Shakespeare has proposed a site in Upper DeLaveaga Park as the new performance venue. The group cites the centralized location, scenic surroundings, and the increased traffic capacity of the area as ideal for a new performance theatre. At a public hearing in January, the Planning Commission recommended the City Council approve the proposal. If approved by City Council, Santa Cruz Shakespeare will have an agreement with the Parks and Recreation Department for a 2-year lease the a site. The public meeting starts at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at 809 Center Street.
