(15:50) CARMEL- Vandals struck at the Carmel Mission Basilica over the weekend. Sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning mass the historic mission was broken into and paint was used to deface statues, tombstones and the building itself. The incident occurred days after Pope Francis canonized father Junipero Serra, who is buried at the mission. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
