(12:35) KING CITY – A man was arrested yesterday for assaulting a King City Police Officer and a Monterey County Sheriff’s Deputy. The incident occurred around 11:35 p.m. when the officer spotted 46-year-old William Tallman vandalizing a cement trash receptacle on the 500 block of Canal Street in King City. Tallman attacked the officer who attempted to make contact, and also assaulted a Monterey Deputy. The Monterey County Sheriff’s Canine was utilized in Tallman’s Apprehension and the officer and deputy sustained minor injuries during the altercation. Tallman was arrested and booked into County Jail on several charges including vandalism, battery, and resisting arrest.
