(12:40) SANTA CRUZ- A memorial service will be held for local resident and activist Lois Roberts Muhly (mew-Lee). Muhly passed away at the age of 89 on August 10th. She was born May 9th 1926 in Porterville California, where she was raised on the family’s homestead. She received a Bachelor of Education from San Jose State University in 1965 and went on to earn a Master’s degree from SFU in 1978. She was married for 64 years until her husband Burt passed away in 2011. Lois Muhly was an elementary teacher in Soquel for 29 year, and supported and belonged to many groups that championed children’s and women’s issue.
