August 22, 2015: CHP: Unsafe Speed Caused Fatal Accident

(14:38) SANTA CRUZ- The California Highway Patrol has released a preliminary report on the August 8th fatal accident in Santa Cruz. The investigation has determined the 34 year old driver of a delivery truck was travelling at an unsafe speed when he rear ended a Toyota Prius on Highway 1, killing 12 year old Coco Lazenby and hospitalizing her mother. The findings also conclude the at fault vehicle may have been within the posted speed limit. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have a role in the accident. The final report is expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.
