August 19, 2015: Street Race in Salinas Ends with Major Collision

(06:58) SALINAS – Four people sustained major injuries in a crash in Salinas Tuesday night. The incident occurred when two men, driving a Ford Mustang and an Acura, engaged in a street race eastbound on Harden Parkway around 9 p.m. Officials say a 34-year-old woman driving a Ford Explorer was pulling onto Harden Parkway when she was struck by the Acura, being driven by 19-year-old Ricardo Acuna. The driver of the Explorer, as well as Acuna and his two 17-year-old female passengers were transported to a trauma center. The driver of the Ford Mustang, 19-year-old Nicolas Guerrero, and his 17-year-old passenger remained at the scene. Both were taken into custody for questioning. The incident is under investigation.
