(22:00) SALINAS – Salinas city councilmembers have voted to ban ALL fireworks in their city….including the so-called Safe and Sane Fireworks. The city council chambers were packed tonight, with people for and against the ban. The mayor, as well as the fire and police chiefs (and many residents) say fireworks are a danger and a drain on city resources; while opponents (to the ban) say it will hurt non-profits and small business, that count on the income from the sales of the Safe and Sane Fireworks.
