(11:46) SANTA CRUZ COUNTY – The Santa Cruz County District Attorney’s Office has filed murder charges against a Watsonville man. 34-year-old Raymond Emmett Cervantes died of his injuries after being stabbed in October 2008. The Sheriff’s Office re-opened the case six months ago based on new information. Investigators were led to 26-year-old Joshua Anthony Zepeda. He is currently serving a prison term at Pelican Bay State Prison for an unrelated stabbing. Zepeda will soon return to Santa Cruz County to face murder charges with gang enhancements. He faces life in prison if convicted. (S.G.)
