August 4, 2015: Big Rig Crash in Salinas

(16:25) SALINAS – The driver of a Big-Rig crash that took place in Salinas today is reportedly ok, as is his son….but his wife suffered moderate injuries and was hospitalized. The engine caught fire just before Noon while the truck was on Highway 101 northbound near the Boronda Road exit. The fire in the truck started a brushfire, that caused authorities to shut down all lanes of northbound 101 for several hours. The last northbound lane finally re-opened around 4:15 p.m.

About 10 minutes before 4 p.m. this afternoon, a big-rig jacknifed on NB 101 near John Street, and the number 2 lane there is still closed.
