August 2, 2015: California Fires State of Emergency

(19:54) HOLLISTER- Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency as nearly two dozen wildfires are burning across the state. The declaration calls for fire districts to send men and equipment to help battle the blazes. However fire agencies around the central coast are already at the legally required minimum crew sizes after sending fire engines, paramedics and firefighters to hot spots last week. Santa Cruz county sent five engine crews, and the Monterey-San Benito counties district sent ten of its 17 fire engines to battle northern California fires. (The fires claimed the life of an out of state fire fighter over the weekend.)
