July 20, 2015: Former King City Police Chief Pleads Guilty

(15:40) KING CITY – King City’s former acting police chief pleaded guilty today to his involvement in the 2014 towing scheme that targeted undocumented immigrants. 50-year-old Bruce Miller, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to commit an act injurious to the public and giving false statements to the DMV. According to prosecutors, the case centered on officers – under Miller’s management – who illegally stopped, towed, and impounded cars mostly driven by Hispanics. Miller faces a maximum of 18-months in jail when he returns to court for sentencing on September 15.
