(07:22) CASTROVILLE – Five homes were threatened by a grass fire in Castroville Monday afternoon. Firefighters were dispatched to a neighborhood on Poole Street around 12:30 p.m. Crews contained and extinguished the fire shortly after. Investigators say children were setting off fireworks in the area when one of them sparked the blaze. The public is being reminded that all fireworks are illegal in the unincorporated areas of Monterey County. (S.G.)
