(06:39) APTOS – A lifeguard competition was canceled Thursday afternoon after over a dozen sharks were spotted off Seacliff State Beach in Aptos. At least 15 great white sharks were seen swimming near the cement ship, prompting officials to cancel all water events in the NorCal Junior Lifeguards competition. Typically around this time of year, only a few sharks on average are spotted off Seacliff State Beach. Warning signs have since been posted along the beach. (S.G.)
