(1656) MONTEREY- A Monterey City official says that the large school of mackerel was most likely chased into the harbor by predators. The harbor is now deploying aerators into the waters. The devices replenish the water with oxygen to keep the fish from dying off. Last year a large die off of anchovies occurred in the Santa Cruz Harbor despite the deployment of aerators.
