June 17, 2015: Governor Brown and Lawmakers Settle on 2015-16 Spending Plan

(09:10) SACRAMENTO – California Governor Jerry Brown and lawmakers have agreed on a budget for the 2015-16 fiscal year. On Tuesday, the Governor and Democratic legislative leaders announced a $115.4 billion spending plan. The budget focuses on eliminating debt, expanding social welfare programs and improving access to education for low-income families. The plan also provides nearly $17 billion in funding for the UC and CSU systems. The budget plan will now return to the Legislature for a vote. (S.G.)
