May 27, 2015: Salinas Reveals Budget Plan with Focus on Public Safety

(08:20) SALINAS – The Salinas City Council revealed its annual budget during a meeting Tuesday night. Officials announced that over $180 million will be allocated over the next year. The budget includes a plan for Measure G funds. Over half of the revenue will be distributed to the police department, which plans to hire more officers and build a new station. The remainder of Measure G funds will be used for public works projects and youth violence prevention programs. (S.G.)
