(08:30) MONTEREY– The Monterey City Council approved funding to help homeless people in the area. Monterey City Council approved 500-Thousand dollars in funding for homeless veterans and young people, at a meeting tuesday night. Most of the funding will go to the veterans transition center in salinas. Another part of the funding will go to building an emergency shelter with six beds for people younger than 24. A portion of the money will also go to repair veterans housing in Marina. (M.K)
