Crews extinguished a fire in Santa Cruz yesterday morning. Firefighters responded to reports of a wildfire in the Pogonip Open Space Preserve shortly before 10. The 100-square-foot fire was located on the Outlook Trail near Spring Street. The blaze was contained within two hours. Officials believe the fire was sparked by a homeless encampment.
