The Salinas Police Department has received new body cameras. The agency recently purchased 70 of the devices using grant funds. Officials say the cameras will stay on throughout a shift and requires the wearer to press a button to record. Officers will begin training with the devices in a few weeks. The department is planning to equip all officers in the street with cameras by summer.
