A construction project is expected to cause traffic delays on State Route 1 in South Monterey County. Crews will be building a new retaining wall near San Luis Obispo County line Sunday night through Friday morning from 9 p.m to 6 a.m. During that time, the road will be closed from Gorda to Ragged Point. The roadway is expected to be closed mid-May through mid-September. Motorists can expect delays of up to 15 minutes. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.
