Project in Elkhorn Slough Receives Grant from California Department of Fish and Wildlife- 5/01/15 08:30 S.G.

A wetlands restoration project in Elkhorn Slough has received a $3 million grant from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. The Blue Carbon Project has been recognized for its efforts in enhancing fish and wildlife habitat, protecting and improving water quality, and helping the state adapt to climate change. The CDFW has distributed an additional $18 million to 11 other greenhouse gas reduction projects across California. The grant funding was sourced from cap-and-trade proceeds.
