Woman’s Ashes Stolen, Family Hopes They’ll Be Returned – 04/29/15 18:30 S.S.

An urn, filled with a woman’s ashes, was stolen out her son’s truck last Thursday…and her family hopes her ashes will be returned. The truck was parked in a park-and-ride near the intersection of Highway 1 and Salinas Road, in North Monterey County. David Hopper said other things were taken too, his tool box, a stereo, CD’s, and loose change….but it is his Mom’s ashes that meant the most to him. He said the urn was in a box on the back seat when he parked his truck at 5 a-m, and everything was gone when he returned at 4:30 p-m. There is a tag on the urn with all of Hopper’s contact information, and he asks that the person with his Mom’s ashes either drop them off at a firehouse, hospital, or his home (wherever that person is comfortable going), so Hopper and his family can complete 66 year-old Ruth Collier’s final wish.
