Cal Fire Inspectors Have Begun Defensible Space Checks-04/26/15-1731-PMD

Cal Fire Inspectors have begun defensible space checks. Cal Fire officials say that the inspections are taking place door to door in remote areas of south Monterey and San Benito counties where the drought has caused a sell off of cattle resulting in tall grasses no longer grazed down in what is expected to be a busy fire season. This is the second year in a row that the agency has made the safety checks, reminding residents to keep at least 30 feet of bare ground around structures and out to a hundred feet well maintained.
