The Big Sur International Marathon takes place this Sunday. The annual run begins on Highway 1 in Big Sur at 6:45 a.m. and finishes in Carmel at Rio Road. The CHP will close the roadway from 6 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The race contestants will use the southbound lane while the CHP will escort three alternating direction caravan throughout the race. Motorist should prepare fore delays of up to two hours.
