New Policy to Require Owners to Keep Dogs on Leash at Fort Ord- 4/22/15 09:00 A.C.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management has made a new rule that requires dog owners to keep their dogs on a leash while at Fort Ord National Monument. For more than 20 years, dogs have been allowed to roam freely at Fort Ord. The new rule has been made in an effort to improve public safety. Over 300 people have signed a petition to reverse the law. BLM officials say the new policy will undergo a 12-month trial period.
